Examples of Australian documents which can be legalised include, Australian:
- Birth/Death/Marriage Certificate
- Criminal Record Check
- University Degree
- University Transcript
- Other Australian public documents
Foreign authorities may request a document to be issued with an Apostille or an Authentication certificate before it will be accepted by that foreign country. This is referred to as ‘legalisation’.
An Apostille or an Authentication certificate can only be affixed to original Australian documents. Documents that have been altered, damaged, or laminated cannot be legalised and customers should request a replacement document from the issuing authority.

This service is for the witnessing of signatures on a Notice of Intended Marriage form or preparing a Certificate of No-Impediment to Marriage.
What to bring:
Noticed of Intended Marriage
- Current photo identification that includes name, photograph and signature.
- Completed but UNSIGNED Notice of Intended Marriage form (available from our website); or
Certificate of No Impediment to Marriage
- Completed but UNSIGNED No-Impediment to Marriage form (available from www.smartraveller.gov.au).
- Applicant and spouse-to-be current passport.
- Applicant and/or spouse-to-be original divorce certificate if previously married.
- English translation prepared by professional translator if the documents are not in English.

About
The Australian High Commission is the official representative of the Australian Government in Singapore.
We provide a range of services to the general public, including consular, passport, visa and immigration, citizenship and cultural relations services. We also act on behalf of various Australian Government authorities by representing Australia's interests to local, regional and multilateral government and business organisations in Singapore.
The Australian High Commission is open to the public from 8:30am to 4:00pm, Monday to Friday. Visitors need to present a photo ID in exchange for a visitor's pass in order to enter the building. Your ID will be kept at the guardhouse and returned to you when you return the visitor's pass.
